Glazier/Window Fabricator/Installer

Glass Supplies P/L is Tasmania’s leading glass and aluminium window & door manufacturer. Our privately owned family company employs over 120 people with operations throughout Tasmania.

This full time Monday to Thursday (4 day week) position involves glazing, assembling, cutting aluminium windows, doors and associated products including glass. It will assist if you have previous experience in window manufacturing, cabinet making, joinery, trades or fabrication.

Based in Hobart and working as part of our production team, you’ll glaze, manufacture and assemble a wide range of aluminium window and door systems including:

• Residential windows and doors
• Sliding and stacking doors
• Custom architectural aluminium products

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but not limited to:-

• Measuring, cutting and preparing aluminium components accurately
• Measuring, preparing and fitting glass to window and door specifications
• Cutting and preparing window and door sashes
• Fabricating and assembling residential aluminium wndows and doors
• Glazing and fitting glass into aluminium frames
• Positioning, securing and aligning glass within frames
• Timber revealing and associated finishing work
• Preparing frames and components for glazing and final assembly
• Reading and interpreting measurements, drawings, specifications and work instructions
• Using hand, power and pneumatic tools safely and effectively
• Operating relevant window and glazing machinery as required
• Checking dimensions and ensuring accurate fabrication and assembly
• Conducting quality insections throughout the production process

Ideally, you’ll have:

Excellent communication skills

Great attention to detail with pride in maintaing a clean and organised workspace

Be able to work within time frames/deadlines & work under pressure

Good manual handling capability and physical fitness

Hold a current driver’s license & has own transport

Wanting an opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and willingness to learn

Adherence to all company OHS&E regulations & practices

Salary range between $60K to $80K depending on level of skills and experience.
